12/25/2022 0 Comments Quickfire tk blue![]() ![]() While the full-size QuickFire Pro is available with Cherry MX Black, Blue, Brown, and Red switches, the QuickFire TK limits the choice to red, brown, and blue. It seems this keyboard is aimed at gamers with a small desktop and LAN party-goers who are in the market for a compact keyboard that you can easily take with you. It's a compact, no-fuzz keyboard without too many bells and whistles, you get Cherry MX switches, key illumination, and NKRO. The QuickFire TK is basically a more condensed version of the QuickFire Pro, this new model ditches the arrow keys as well as other navigation and editing keys. 1 egg off for lack of durability on the switches, and the key tray design that collects stuff far too easily, even if you keep your work-space clean.CM Storm QuickFire TK mechanical keyboard reviewĬooler Master recently added the CM Storm QuickFire TK to its line of mechanical gaming keyboards. Without, of course, having them wear out due to being beaten. ![]() I like my key presses very deliberate, and forceful. I personally won't be touching blue switches again, or reds for that matter, now I need to find a keyboard I like with either blacks or browns, I like the extra resistance and after using blues for some time I've come to the conclusion they're far too weak for my liking. If you're looking at this series/brand of keyboards in general, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. My GF hates it though, so needless to say I'll be replacing this soon with either another quickfire with browns or something, or one of Corsairs new series. I just wish it would have lasted longer, but this was the only white keyboard (I'm a sucker for white) available at the time and I had no choice but to go with blues, and also because I like the tactile feel and chatter. If you want to avoid this, at least in part, I would recommend the "edge-less" key tray/plate design that the newer Corsair keyboards are featuring, might save you some pain down the road.Ĭooler Master's keyboards really are fantastic overall, nott much to complain about here. Overall Review: Most would list it as a con, but due to the "frame" form that borders the keys/where the keys sit (as you'll be able to see on images above), it's a real trap for sediment, hair, and other particulate or small matter that might fall underneath your key tray.Ĭleaning it out is as simple as popping your keys off, but this is time consuming. Some people, as one other mentioned, will get frustrated with the "FN" or "Function Lock" key function, it can be a pain, but once I got used to it, it also became second-nature for me as well and I actually prefer it, as it helps stop some accidental key presses with software I use that utilizes the F keys (audio-visual design). I don't know anything about manually replacing switches, and I don't even know if it's doable, but if it is I can assume it's an option for some users? Meh. I thought it might have just been dirty, but cleaning it out seems to have done nothing. Still, I did expect more on the durability side, even from switches with a soft resistance to abuse. Given, they are blue switches, and I do naturally have heavy typing fingers, so I suppose it's hard to complain. (I just realized that spells TLC, kind of funny considering that seems to be all this would need to be fully working again, a couple switch replacements and I'd be good to go, just needs a bit of TLC.) It's done it's job, I simply expected more durability. +Overall great quality of both aesthetics and performanceĬons: -It's been a bit over a year, maybe a tad longer of moderate use, and some keys, specifically my "T" "L" and "C" keys seems to be spotty, and seem to be beginning to fail. +Feels great to type with, very responsive +SUPER bright illumination, and adjustable levels as well as modes (solid lit, pulse) ![]() Seven easy-access multimedia keys conveniently placed along top edge allow one-press control of media playback.
